BACHELOR PROJECT (4 months)

Data analysis: Implement exact timing in the filtered data.

Student project

Since the signal of a gravitational wave is so small, data of just one detector can never give a conclusion weather a signal was due to a gravitational wave or if it was due to noise. The energy of signals in at least two different detectors must be compared (coincidence measurements), so exact timing is very important. During this project the student has to calculate the timing of the filtered data/event list from the GPS time (PPS signals), acquired by fast acquisition.
